Adult Education Instructor - Mathematics and Science
32 hour Full-time Position located in Anchorage
Salary: $46,592 per year
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide high-quality instruction to Adult
learners including teaching classes,
providing one-on-one student support, and
student intake and registration.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Degree and at least one year experience
teaching experience
2. Proficient with computers and willing to
learn new programs
3. A strong desire to work in a fast-paced social service agency serving a very diverse population.
4. Comfortable working independently and
as a member of a team
5. Works well in a people-intensive
environment
6. Knowledge and acceptance of persons
with diverse cultural, ethnic, and social
backgrounds
7.
Multi-Lingual preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide high-quality instruction to Adult
learners in one or more of the areas
including reading, writing, mathematics,
social studies, science,
English language
acquisition, and digital literacy.
2. Facilitate study labs to support test
preparation, literacy, and English language
acquisition
3.
Monitor student progress in Distance
Education Programs IXL and Online
Learning and support students as needed.
Conduct
4. Student Intakes and class registration, as
needed, including
a. Complete corresponding paperwork
with students
b. Introduce programs used by
Organization to student
5. Substitute classes as needed
6.
Advise and refer students to appropriate
ALP and community programs and classes
7. Accept additional assignments as directed by supervisor to support program quality, and maintain ongoing coordination with colleagues and volunteers

20 hour Part-time Position located in MatSu Valley
Salary: $29,120 per year
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide high-quality instruction to Adult
learners including teaching classes,
providing one-on-one student support, and
student intake and registration.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Fluent speaker of English and read at high-
intermediate level
2. Proficient with computers and willing to
learn new programs
3.
Experienced in use of technology.
Conducting online and hybrid classes or
meetings preferred
4. A strong desire to work in a fast-paced social service agency serving a very diverse population.
5. Comfortable working independently and
as a member of a team
6. Works well in a people-intensive
environment
7. Knowledge and acceptance of persons
with diverse cultural, ethnic, and social
backgrounds
