Privacy Policy

Alaska Literacy Program (ALP) complies with the requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). This federal law protects the privacy of all ALP students and their records and allows certain rights given to all students.

Your rights as a student

 Under this act, students have the right to inspect and review educational records that ALP collects.

Students also have the right to correct information that is inaccurate or misleading. If ALP does not correct the record, the student has the right to legal steps after.

ALP and Personal Information

Alaska Literacy Program will ask students verbally or through GoogleForms to opt-in to receiving messages from us through email, text, or through WorkReadyMobile.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent, this information will not be shared with any third parties. 

Staff will use contact information to notify students of building closures, enrollment dates, and other pertinent information related to the student’s education ONLY.

Online courses will be hosted on secure platforms requiring passwords released only to enrolled students and instructors, such as Zoom, to ensure the online safety of students. Courses containing student’s faces, voices, and personal intellect will not be recorded or saved.
